photos via Melissa DeLorme PhotographyThe glasses trends of 2014 have been pretty resounding: cat-eye has been back with a vengeance, and even if you were at first tempted to think "been there, done that," it may be time to reconsider. Whether you choose to mix in metal details or go with bold color pairings, cat-eye frames are feeling new again because designers aren't relying on the shape for the visual interest. If you really want to embrace everything that is 2014 this fall, you can't go wrong by selecting a cat-eye shape with a color effect. For today's post, our featured cat-eye frame has a two-tone fade effect, where the darker brown color near the top fades to clear plastic towards the bottom of the eyepiece. If you are someone who has tended to stick with rimless frames, going with light or clear tones is a great way to try the more fashion-forward plastic frames without feeling caged inside your glasses. The last thing you want is a big black frame constantly disrupting your peripheral vision if you are used to seeing no rim at all. Totally clear plastic frames can be quite difficult to wear, however, since they can easily skew towards safety-glasses in appearance. Utilizing a slight color fade to break up a clear plastic can be just what you need to successfully pull of this look!Need some frame inspiration to achieve your cat-eye fade effect for fall?If you are feeling a little more adventurous, try the horizontal cat-eye fade by Cutler and GrossOr try the fade effect in sunglasses with these Vera Wang cat-eyes

They are LOUD. At first I was shocked, they were loud but I was missing something I heard when I played Pearse or Earthwoods. But face it, the Pearse don't last. These have done well. I have them on a Martin GCPA. And I won't be forced to change them so soon. I think they are worth the experience. I had no issues with breaking or failed sustain. My impression of the sustain is that these strings give the longest sustain, of any so far, and because of the volume, the whole guitar resonates long after the picking stops. To me, the PB are a bit bright.volume, sustain and durabilityMight be a little brightBy joe ricleartones.. def left the bldgMay 29, 2021cleartones came fresh on my gibson.. and have been replaced with same 9-46 since.. except these last 2 sets - garbage.. why - because the earlier set failed in less than 3 months - A string unwound right in the middle for zero reason.. and this last set - low E unwound 1" before the bridge ... i don't play everyday - i work for a living.. everything gets wiped down - case - cedar clst - see - care.. and they sounded dead from day 1..so -- like a normal loyal customer - i emailed cleartone -- no response.. 3 emails later - zero response.. WAY TO GO FOR CUSTOMER RETENTION... not even a ''sorry''.. .... so.. now on the hunt for a way better product - with service - just in case... sad that another american company fails - all because of poor leadership and greed.. oh... i'll be removing all the other strings from everything and sending them directly to cleartone - maybe they can figure out an alternative use --- DOG WALKING LEASH.not any more... unless one needs a garroting wiremaybe too many mushrooms.. weed.. meth.. bath salts.. fentanyl... quality control is definitely not on the listBy Charles R. Good for my BreedloveOctober 26, 2014So my teacher gave me a set of these. He was saying he did not think they would sell because they are expensive. Me -- I love me some dirt cheap strings (A fresh set of $4.00 Martin strings can sound pretty darn good). So I really did not want to like these.Sometimes you get what you play for, though. Put these on a limited edition Breedlove concert size with myrtle back and sides. At first, they sounded really powerful -- almost TOO much power. But when I heard the guitar from the front, the delicate balance and depth of the guitar was still there. Just really present and organic sounding. After a few days, they tamed down just a bit, and this guitar has never sounded better, IMHO. Have tried a number of phosphor bronze and 80-20 Bronze sets on the guitar.I will see how long they hang onto their edge. If they last another week, I can kind of cost justify the thing. If not, maybe I slap on a set before recording or playing for people. AMAZING strings. Not happy with myself though. Will probably hold off trying these on my other main acoustic so I don't feel compelled to move that one off the Sunbeams. Lord help me and my corksniffer tastes.By Mike R. Cleartone stringsJuly 19, 2011I agree with the other reviewer's comments about choosing the right string for different applications. In my experience the twang that he speaks of is well suited to my Taylor 815, but not so much the 812. I like the strings, and use them on a number of different guitars, Martins to Strats, I too still use Elixir for the same reasons, clearer top end on some guitars, but overall I like the short break in time on the Cleartones, and they don't fuzz up with age.By David S. Cleartone Acoustic StringsJune 25, 2010I bought two sets of Cleartone lights, the first set I put on my Yamaha LL500 (now superseded by model LL36), and found the highs a bit twangy, so went back to my old favorites Elixir Nanoweb P.B's.The second set I put on my Martin J-16GT, and on that guitar they sounded lovely, deep lows, clear mids., and bright highs, with long sustain, and long life. I'll keep using them on this guitar. Fabulous sound! You need to experiment to find out which strings best suit your guitar, and your ear.By Larry StringsFebruary 11, 2010Love 'em. Great sound & stays great for as long as I need before changing. Sweet sound.By Roger M. Cleartone Acoustic StringsFebruary 5, 2010Sustain went away after one day. Strings were dead. I changed 'em to Ernie Balls (to try out), and they're much better. Froggy Bottom H12 Brazilian. 2ff7e9595c
