Melbourne, May 18 (ANI): Secret Snow White wedding was a tale come true for Michael Clarke and his new bride Kyly Boldy, who got married in a private ceremony on Tuesday in the Blue Mountains. After the secrecy of the past few months, planning every last detail of the ceremony at Wolgan Valley Resort in the Blue Mountains and designing the 29,000-dollar Alex Perry gown, the newlyweds will fly out of Sydney today for their honeymoon. The WAG's wedding gown was four months in the making, consisted of 150m of silk-backed organza and it took 140 hours to hand-bead the intricate detail, but designer Alex Perry didn't even know the date or location of the ceremony. Original wedding party estimates of 70 were revised to a more intimate 40, with retired rugby league player Luke Ricketson and Kate Waterhouse, TV presenter Kelly Landry and accountant Anthony Bell and Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley joining the exclusive guestlist. After returning to Melbourne on Wednesday, Hurley tweeted "A million congratulations to you both - we were honoured to be included XX", the Daily Telegraph reported. It emerged that the wedding at the newly refurbished Emirates-owned Wolgan Valley Resort, where a suite costs upwards of 1500-dollar a night, was organised by an event planner with a source saying Boldy was in constant contact, even while she overseas accompanying Clarke on cricket duties. Only a select few staff members were aware of the identity of the wedding couple. Dozens of white lilies were flown to the resort on Monday, along with a multi-tiered cake, the same day as guests began arriving ahead of Tuesday's festivities. Guests were offered activities including spas and pampering, horse riding, mountain biking and wildlife treks. The couple's families unwound for the four-day period before they started going home yesterday. Sources revealed that the couple could look forward to a "six-star Bollywood honeymoon" in India before enjoying the best of the British season in London. Insiders said that along with Clarke's teammates, who were not informed of the wedding - nor of their engagement - his Cricket Australia boss James Sutherland was also left off the guest list, the executive hearing the news through media reports on Wednesday. Kohli made his cricket debut in October 2002 with the Delhi Under-15 team in the 2002-03 Polly Umrigar Trophy and lead the team for the next trophy. He was later selected in the Delhi Under-17 team for the 2003-04 Vijay Merchant Trophy where he finished as the highest run-scorer.
He led India in the first Test of the Australian tour and scored 115 runs in the first innings, thereby becoming the fourth Indian to score a hundred on his Test captaincy debut. Dhoni announced his retirement from Test cricket at the conclusion of the third match between India and Australia, and Kohli was appointed as the full-time Test captain ahead of the fourth Test at Sydney.
At Sydney, Kohli scored 147 in the first innings and became the first batter in the Test cricket history to score three hundred in his first three innings as Test captain. He was named as captain of the 'Team of the Tournament' for the 2016 World Twenty20 by the ICC.
Method: This study investigated the impact of the relative age effect, and potential moderating factors, within the talent selection process of Australian cricket. Relative age distribution of 2,415 male and female junior and senior state level cricket players, who played in the Junior National Championships or State competition (senior level) between 2011 and 2015, were analysed.
Results: Players born in the first quartile of the cricket season were significantly over-represented in both male Under-15, Under-17, Under-19 and female Under-15 and Under-18 levels. However, there was no significant difference at the senior state level for either male or female cricketers. Further investigation of the relative age effect in the junior talent pathway revealed that male all-rounders, batters and pace bowlers, and female all-rounders and batters, born in first quartile were over-represented. Right-handed batters and bowlers were also influenced by the relative age effect at all Junior National levels, while left-handed batters and bowlers were only influenced at the Under-15 and Under-17 levels. These results highlight the impact relative age has on junior cricket talent pathways, including sex, age, handedness and primary skills. Only state level, and left-handedness at the Under-19 level, were unaffected by relative age.
Discussion: The findings of this study highlight the influence of relative age effects for both male and female junior cricket players. Interestingly, there may be an advantage to being left-handed that is more prevalent at the older (male Under-19; female Under-18) age levels.
